Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye.
As he and Autumn at first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax’s side?

Att bli inlåst i ett bibliotek tillsammans med en snygg kille låter som något mitt tonåriga jag skulle drömma om haha. By Your Side är en väldigt snabbläst bok, så snabbt att jag läste ut den på en dag. Jag trodde först att hela boken skulle utspela sig i biblioteket men så blev inte fallet och jag blev till och med lite överraskad av händelseutvecklingen.
Karaktärsmässigt känns den ganska stereotypisk, Autumn är den snälla flickan som försöker göra alla nöjda, Dax är den beryktade killen man undviker i skolan men som egentligen har ett hjärta av guld. Jag gillar hur Autumn ansträngde sig för att lära känna Dax och hur hon hela tiden utmanade honom i påhittade lekar under tiden de var ensamma. Även om man kunde förutse hur boken skulle sluta så var det ändå intressant att läsa om deras utveckling.
Har inte så mycket mer att tillägga, det är en mysig och snabbläst contemporary/romance, den sticker inte ut ur mängden men fungerar bra som tidsfördriv.

- Vilken idiot Dallin är! Jag misstänker att han är kär i Jeff och svartsjuk på Autumn, för hans reaktion känns väldigt barnslig.
- Jeff visar sig ändå vara en hygglig kille, men vilken jobbig morsa han har.
